Maldives Police Service (MPS) has launched a manhunt for an individual wanted to be presented before the court, in connection with an ongoing probe.
The police institution revealed that the case was filed at the Hulhumalé Magistrate Court.
In a publication made on Sunday, MPS noted that the man is being sought to be taken into police custody, regarding a case being investigated presently.
The police institution was ordered by the Hulhumalé Magistrate Court, to locate the man and take him into their custody before presenting him to court.
Wanted is Ahmed Zahid, 35 and native to Foakaidhoo island of Shaviyani atoll.
He is wanted to be presented before court, under accusations of abusing Diamorphine.
Efforts to summon the suspect to the court have been to no avail so far, with which the manhunt was publicized.
MPS was instructed to arrest him and present him to the Hulhumalé Magistrate Court at 9:30am on March 19.
Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of the suspect, has been urged to contact the Police Custodial Department through 9991442 to share any information that would be helpful in the investigation.
