President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has encouraged his people to practice honesty and good values during the fasting month of Ramadan.
He made this appeal while speaking to residents of Naifaru island of Lhaviyani atoll on Saturday.
Taking the podium at the meeting, President Muizzu encouraged citizens of the island nation to seize the golden opportunity the fasting month presents, to embrace virtuous conduct and ideals.
Muizzu urged the people to foster a compassionate society by caring for one another during this blessed month.
Highlighting that Ramadan provides an opportunity for Muslims to practice their religion more and increase their devotion to Islam, the president pushed his people to refrain from negative conduct.
As such, he urged the people to embrace honesty, nurture respect for one another as well as discipline, among all age groups including children, youth as well as adults.
Muizzu went on to appeal to the public to refrain from deception even amid competition and to treat each other respectfully.
