The president met members of Dh. Bandidhoo council and WDC on Tuesday

Council members of Bandidhoo island of Dhaal atoll have urged the president to address the beach erosion issue facing the island.

This was done during a meeting President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu held with the island’s council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) members on Tuesday.

Discussions at the meeting revolved around the urgent needs and concerns of the island community, including regarding beach erosion, the establishment of an ice plant, the construction of a multi-purpose hall for the school, the construction of a new building for the council secretariat, the relocation of the island’s powerhouse as well as the implementation of an improved waste management system.

The meeting also saw the island’s WDC members shedding light on the urgency of providing a proper waste management system.

They also advocated for increased opportunities in sports specifically for women.
