President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has been briefed on the development needs of Hulhudheli island of Dhaal atoll.
This was done during a meeting he held with the island’s council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) members on Tuesday.
Councilors of the island stressed the need for land reclamation, as there was a massive demand for land.
They also talked about the need to install an ice plant on the island, as well as to develop a waste management center.
Hulhudheli councilors briefed the president on the need for a new building to house the council secretariat, the need to establish a fish processing factory at Maadheli island as well as the need to initiate a road development initiative in Hulhudheli.
Discussions also revolved around the need to establish ATM services in Hulhudheli and the need to install a fish aggregating device in the atoll.
Listening to these concerns, the president assured the members that his administration would address the issues raised by the council and seek solutions to tackle them, through consultations with relevant authorities.
