Council members of Dhidhdhoo island in Haa Alif atoll, have expressed confidence that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu will make good on his pledges.
This was done during a meeting the president held with the island’s council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) members on Saturday.
The meeting saw discussions revolving around key concerns facing the island community including the need for road development, providing more sporting facilities for the youth as well as improving the transportation system.
Dhidhdhoo councilors stressed on the urgent need for an upgrade to the island’s hospital.
They also shed light on the terrible condition of the island’s powerhouse, for which they sought an immediate solution.
Pledging full support to the Muizzu administration, the councilors expressed confidence in the smooth implementation of the ongoing projects on the island.
The president was also briefed on the future development aspirations of the island community.
Dhidhdhoo WDC members talked about space constraints at their office, as well as budget constraints.
Speaking at the meeting, the president reiterated his commitment to fulfil all pledges made and assured that his administration would thoroughly examine the issues raised by the council and explore agreeable solutions to tackle the issues at hand.
The island council was briefed on the latest updates of the administration’s initiatives related to their concerns raised at the meeting, by ministers accompanying the president.
Before meeting the island’s council, President Muizzu officially inaugurated their new secretariat building.
