Discussions have been held regarding the development needs of Kanduhulhudhoo island in Gaaf Alif atoll.

This was done during a meeting President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu held with members of the island council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) on Wednesday, as part of his tour of some islands in the south of Maldives which he began on Sunday morning.

As such, the meeting saw discussions revolving around the need for youth development and ATM services.

The councilors also shared the need to resolve the issue surrounding lack of space at the island’s school and building a multipurpose hall, as swiftly as possible.

Urging the government to expand port space on the island, the councilors shed light on other important matters for the island's development.

These include relocating the building of the magistrate court and road construction.

The meeting saw members of the president’s Cabinet of Ministers providing updates on the projects underway on the island.

Listening to the concerns raised at the meeting, the president assured the councilors that he would address them, look into the requests made and attempt to fulfil them.
