A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed for the preliminary design and survey work of the bridge project connecting Hithadhoo to Hulhumeedhoo in southernmost Addu City.
The MoU was signed as part of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s tour of some islands in the south of Maldives which he began on Sunday morning.
The president honored the signing ceremony which was held during his meeting with residents of Addu City’s Maradhoo and Maradhoo-Feydhoo.
Speaking to residents, Muizzu highlighted that this is one of the many significant projects pledged by his administration.
Further, he said that the expenses for the design and feasibility of the bridge will be funded by grants.
Highlighting that the project will commence within the year, President Muizzu stated that it will be completed within about four years.
In addition to this, he expressed hope to see the successful implementation of the project contributing to the progress of Addu City’s economic prospects.
The Arab Contractors was contracted the preliminary design and survey of the Hithadhoo and Hulhumeedhoo Bridge in Addu City.
The MoU was signed by Minister of Construction and Infrastructure Dr. Abdulla Mutalib on behalf of the government of Maldives and by Engineer Heba Abu AlEla on behalf of The Arab Contractors.
