The equipment donated by the Embassy of China in the Maldives, has been handed over to Maafushi School.

The ceremony was held in Maafushi island on Wednesday and was attended by First Lady Sajida Mohamed.

Taking the podium at the event, FL Sajidha stated that the donations would greatly enhance the academic experience of students alongside benefiting the teachers.

The first lady stated that the sports equipment would contribute to promoting the physical well-being of students at Maafushi School.

In her speech the first lady also highlighted that education is the cornerstone of society's development.

Highlighting that investing in the educational infrastructure of Maafushi School lays the groundwork for the long-term prosperity of the island, she stated that the benefits of the donation extend far beyond the walls of Maafushi School, serving the entire island community.

FL Sajidha went on to express sincere gratitude to the government of China as well as Governor of Yunnan Province Wang Yubo, for the generous donation.

The first lady also expressed appreciation to the Ambassador of China to Maldives, Wang Lixin and the embassy for their unwavering support and invaluable assistance in facilitating the grant.
