The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has begun a manhunt for an individual wanted to be presented before the Criminal Court.
The man is wanted to be presented before the Criminal Court, in connection with a case filed at the court.
Efforts to summon the man have been to no avail so far and the court has issued an order for the police to take him into custody and present him to court.
Wanted is Hassan Nizar, 53 and native to Vilufushi island of Thaa atoll.
He is accused of being involved in a case linked to fraud.
Nizar is to be presented before the court at 10am on 26 December 2023.
The public has been urged to contact the police custodial department through 9991442 if any information of the suspect is attained.
