The police post established in Nellaidhoo island of Haa Dhaal atoll has been officially inaugurated.

The police post was established with the purpose of providing police services closer to the island community.

Acting Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner of Police Faruhaad Fikuree and Nellaidhoo Council President Mohamed Aleef jointly inaugurated the island’s police post, during a ceremony held on Saturday.

The inauguration ceremony was joined by executive police officers, commissioned police officers, officers stationed in Haa Dhaal atoll, members of the island council, employees of institutions on the island as well as members of the island community.

As part of efforts to serve the people of the island closer, in a decentralized manner, the police services have been inaugurated in Nellaidhoo, in collaboration with the people of the island.
