Ooredoo Maldives has reopened registrations for their Fun Run 2023 event.

In a press release publicized on Friday, Ooredoo revealed that limited slots have been made available due to popular demand and registrations have been opened once more.

Highlighting that more than 5,000 participants are also expected to join the festivities this year, Ooredoo revealed that interested runners may register and book their slots by ordering their desired fun run kits via Moolee.

The telecommunications company initially opened registrations for its Fun Run 2023 event on November 5 and registrations closed at the end of the month.

The much-anticipated Ooredoo Fun Run, previously and more commonly known as the celebrated Ooredoo Color Run, is slated for December 22 and will be held in Hulhumalé.

In a bid to make this year’s event more spectacular, Ooredoo has made it possible for contestants to customize their bibs and imprint their names on it.

Ooredoo revealed that once participants register on Moolee, they can access the required kits and size, select them and add to cart before checking out and selecting a delivery address. Participants will be required to put the name they wish to inscribe on the bib with a maximum of seven letters in the “special instructions” box, before paying to confirm the order.

Fun Run kits have been made available in two categories; standard kits and fun kits. The latter comes at a price of MVR 200 and provides Fun Run t-shirts, wrist bands, tote bags, bandanas and shades.

The standard kits include Fun Run t-shirts and wrist bands and are priced at MVR 100 each.

Enthusiastic runners of all ages are welcome to book their slots in the five-kilometer Fun Run, which promises several fun activities for participants.

The event welcomes both new and experienced runners to join in the excitement.

The event carries the purpose of encouraging healthy lifestyles and showing how enjoyable and fun running is. The organizer promises the event to be fun and worthwhile, even for beginners. For a splash of fun colors, each kilometer is separated with a “color station”, water and fun obstacles and every participant can finish the race at their desired pace, as it is not a timed race.

The event aims to promote running as a gateway to healthy living, and thousands from different age groups can participate to either run, jog or walk the five kilometers and have their efforts celebrated in style with a foam party, finisher medals and a music show.

Ooredoo Maldives has invited enthusiastic runners and professionals as well as members of the general public to join the event to soak in an amazing time with friends and family.

The previous fun runs hosted by Ooredoo were a massive success and received immense public praise.

The company introduced an exciting new addition to the activities planned for this year's event to make it a day of enjoyment and unforgettable memories for all participants, by announcing the first-ever drone race in the Maldives, ‘Ooredoo Drone Race’.

Ooredoo Drone Race will take place in Hulhumalé on the morning of December 22 and promises to add a new dimension of excitement to the festivities of Ooredoo Fun Run.

Drone enthusiasts will have the opportunity to observe and participate in this exciting competition, which will be timed and challenges participants to navigate through a specially designed drone racing track that includes obstacles and hoops to reach the finish line in the fastest time.
