Pres. Yameen using force shows that he is losing: Nasheed

Former President Mohamed Nasheed has stated that President Yameen’s use of force against unarmed public shows that he is losing.

In a tweet posted on Thursday, he said that inappropriate force was used and that those officers who had done so will be penalized, as per means under the law.

In the protests of this week Police had used force against unarmed peaceful protesters and journalists. Police had deliberately damaged the live units and cameras used by journalists to document the proceedings of Wednesday night and physically assaulted reporters. Even though they previously said they will accept damages, they had later abdicated from that responsibility.
