A driver involved in a car crash in Hulhumalé has been arrested and remanded.
A speeding car lost control and crashed into three motorcycles near Central Park in the capital Malé City’s suburban extension Hulhumalé on Monday night.
The car was being operated by a 30-year-old Maldivian man.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the accident occurred at around 7:40pm on Monday.
The police institution highlighted that two men and a woman on two of the three motorcycles the car collided with, were injured and treated at Hulhumalé Hospital.
Two out of the three injured in the crash were transferred to ADK Hospital later, for further treatment. One of them is receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with the other being treated at HDU.
A total of four individuals attained injuries of different severity in the road accident.
The car driver was arrested on Monday night and presented to Hulhumalé Court for his remand hearing.
Hulhumalé Court remanded the driver for a period of seven days in custody.
