The harbor development project in Maaungoodhoo island of Shaviyani atoll is progressing well.
This was revealed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Monday.
As such, taking to X to provide the latest updates of the Maaungoodhoo harbor development project to the public, MTCC revealed that the first shipment of rock boulders required for the project were recently delivered to the project site.
As part of the project, the quay wall block installation component has reached 97 percent progress.
Further, the new harbor basin dredging component is at 51 percent progress.
Currently ongoing at the project site is the quay wall concrete work, according to MTCC.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to conduct dredging operations in an area measuring 59,013 cubic meters and channel dredging operations in an area measuring 3,245 cubic meters.
The construction of a ramp, a concrete jetty, a breakwater measuring 362 meters, a quay wall measuring 312 meters and a 105-meter revetment also comes under the scope of the project.
The project also entails the installation of a harbor pavement measuring 1,509 square meters, harbor lights as well as mooring buoys.
The Maaungoodhoo harbor development project is valued at MVR 56.79 million.
