Muizzu urges urgent probe into Makunudhoo explosion, to ensure safety of workers

President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has urged authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances leading up to the gas cylinder explosion that rocked Makunudhoo island of Haa Dhaal atoll on Saturday.
The president-elect has urged authorities to look into the matter thoroughly and ensure the safety of the work being conducted there.
This incident occurred not long after an explosion injured four at Kulhudhuffushi Airport, on Thursday
Shedding light on these two incidents, the office of the President-elect released a statement on Saturday, stressing that it was very unfortunate and that both incidents should be looked into, thoroughly.
Muizzu went on to urge the relevant authorities to take the necessary steps to ensure such incidents do not recur.
He went on to urge lawmakers to expedite the bill submitted to the People’s Majlis, which seeks to address such incidents, systemically.
