Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir Ali departed to Egypt late Monday.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs revealed that the minister’s trip is to participate in the International Conference on Fatwa and Challenges of the Third Millennium، to be held in Cairo, Egypt from October 18 – 19.

The theme of the conference this year revolves around challenges in issuing Fatwas in the 23rd century.

The Maldivian Islamic Minister is scheduled to address the International Conference on Fatwa and Challenges of the Third Millennium.

The conference is an annual conference organized by the world’s fatwa institution where muftis and Islamic preachers gather to discuss the issues facing the sector.
