An expatriate has been arrested for being in possession of alcohol.
The 36-year-old expatriate was arrested during an operation conducted by the police officers stationed on Thilafushi island of Kaafu atoll, on October 15.
The operation stemmed from an intel report of alcohol possession and trafficking within the expatriate community on the island.
Following his arrest, officers confiscated his belongings and found three bottles of alcohol and 107 500-ml bottles believed to contain alcoholic substances.
Although no further details of the suspect have been disclosed, the case is under further investigation.
