President Solih made these remarks while speaking at the National Assembly of MDP held on Tuesday night

The next government of the People's National Congress (PNC) will receive all the necessary support from the People's Majlis, assures the leader of the ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) and the current President of the Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

President Solih made these remarks while speaking at the National Assembly of MDP held on Tuesday night.

Speaking at the session, President Solih said that the most important task of his administration right now, is to carry out the peaceful transition of government. As such, he noted that they will give full support and cooperation.

President Solih, during his meeting with President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, on Sunday, also assured that he would try to make the transition process as smooth as possible.

President Solih has also formed a special committee to oversee the transition process.

The committee, which was formed on Sunday, will be headed by Secretary, Corporate Services, at the President's Office, Hussain Amir.

The President said that Chief of Staff Al-Ustaz Ali Zahir will oversee all aspects of the transition process on behalf of the Presidency and a team of relevant professionals from the Presidency will work to provide necessary assistance to the President-elect's office.

During the meeting, President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu said that he was pleased that President Ibrahim Mohammed Solih had called him to accept the results of Saturday's election and expressed his gratitude to the President.
