President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that the incumbent administration's foreign policy has compelled the global community to acknowledge the Maldives.
He made this statement while speaking at a presser held the President's Office on Monday.
Speaking at the presser, President Solih claimed that his administration's foreign policy is the best a Maldivian government has ever undertaken and that this has helped to improve Maldives' ties with numerous nations.
The President noted that involvement by Maldives in international fora has also expanded as a result of the administration's firm foreign policy.
By the end of his five years in office, the President claimed, no nation was compelled to make a public statement regarding Maldivian domestic issues. He said that this demonstrates that the Maldives has kept tight ties with other nations and is reaping the rewards of those relationships.
The President stated that, particularly in the area of the environment, the Maldives now has a voice in international forums.
Noting that there should always be reliable and solid ties with neighboring countries, President Solih stated that in order to ensure the safety and security of the Indian Ocean, the Maldives has also inked agreements with a number of its neighbors.
