President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has inaugurated the completion of various development projects in Meedhoo Island of Dhaalu Atoll.
The projects were inaugurated as part of President Solih's ongoing visit to the atoll, on Monday.
The newly inaugurated projects were the water supply project, the new powerhouse of the island and the new Fenaka Office building.
The newly developed Fenaka Office and powerhouse are strategically located away from residential areas and have modern facilities. This initiative replaces the island's old powerhouse, built in the center of a residential neighborhood 22 years ago, and is part of the administration's commitment to addressing the challenges island residents face.
The water supply network, funded under a USD 800 million line-of-credit agreement with the Maldivian government and the Indian EXIM Bank, was constructed by SMC Infrastructures Pvt. Ltd.
Under the leadership of President Solih, the administration has made significant strides towards achieving equitable development across all inhabited islands in the Maldives. This includes enhancing the quality of life for citizens and empowering them to lead dignified lives. During his visits to various islands, President Solih is officially inaugurating the completion of numerous projects and services.
