The reclamation work for the land reclamation and shore protection project in Ihavandhoo island of Haa Alif atoll, has successfully wrapped up.
This was revealed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Thursday.
As such, providing the latest updates of the Ihavandhoo land reclamation and shore protection project to the public, the company revealed that they have successfully completed the reclamation work of the project.
Further, MTCC has delivered the full shipment of rock boulders required for the project and completed the unloading work as well.
The company highlighted that the remaining shore protection component is currently at 54 percent progress, with the overall project having reached 75 percent completion.
On Thursday, a chartered dredger “Filipo Brunelleschi” was mobilized to undertake the reclamation work at Komandoo island of Shaviyani atoll as well.
Under the scope of the Ihavandhoo land reclamation and shore protection project, MTCC was contracted to reclaim 25 hectares of land and construct a rock boulder revetment measuring 850 meters.
The Ihavandhoo land reclamation and shore protection project is valued at MVR 116.94 million.
The project was contracted to MTCC by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.
