Second shipment of concrete blocks required for quay wall construction have been delivered to the site

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has revealed that the Harbor Development Project of Narudhoo island of Shaviyani atoll is well underway.

The company states that the second shipment of concrete blocks required for quay wall construction for Narudhoo Harbor Development Project have been delivered to the site on 17th July 2023.

Additionally, the new harbor basin dredging operations are ongoing, with 40 percent completion.

The company kicked off the physical work for the harbor development project 4 May, 2023.

Under the scope of the project MTCC is required to conduct harbor dredging operations in an area measuring 51,212 cubic meters as well as channel dredging operations in an area of 4,120 cubic meters.

The construction of a quay wall measuring 210 meters, a 371-meter breakwater and a revetment measuring 205 meters also come under the scope of the project.

Further, MTCC will also be installing harbor lights as well as a harbor pavement measuring 955 square meters and constructing a ramp under the project.

The value of the project is MVR 41.34 million.
