The existing security cooperation between the Maldives and the United States has achieved notable progress and growth.

This remark made by Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid and the United States' Deputy National Security Advisor, Jon Finer, during a meeting held on Thursday.

Taking to Twitter, FM Shahid revealed that the meeting with the US Deputy National Security Advisor was productive.

As such, they shared security challenges and engaged in discussions on the extensive security cooperation between the two countries.

Further, they shed light on the enduring strategic partnership between the two countries and expressed satisfaction with the progress and growth achieved in existing security cooperation.

Discussions also revolved around maintaining the ongoing cooperation between Maldives and US Security agencies in efficiently addressing the challenges.

FM Shahid and the US Deputy National Security Advisor went on to emphasize the importance of maintaining bilateral strategic cooperation.

The meeting was joined by Ambassador of Maldives to the US, Abdul Ghafoor Mohamed and Chief of Protocol at the ministry Ahmed Shiaan.
