Hinnavaru Harbor Development Project nears completion

Hinnavaru Harbor Development Project
Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has disclosed that the Harbor Development Project of Hinnavaru island in Lhaviyani Atoll is near completion.
MTCC disclosed that Hinnavaru Harbor Development Project is currently underway with overall 90 percent project progress.
As such, the company notes that harbor excavation and sheet piling works have been completed.
The company has also completed construction of quay wall, breakwater and groyne.
Currently, MTCC is working on panel installation work at the site.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to reclaim 3.2 hectares of land, dredge 65,170.76 cubic meters, construct a quay wall measuring 421 meters and a breakwater measuring 123.9 meters.
Additionally, the company is also required to build a revetment of 170.55 meters, construct a groyne and a harbor pavement.
The project was contracted to MTCC by the Ministry of National Planning Housing and Infrastructure on 10 November 2020 and mobilized on 13 March 2021.
The project is contracted to be completed within 350 days, and is valued at MVR 99.52 million.
