President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Gayoom says that it was possible for the opposition to garner enough votes to impeach him from his position.
He made the statement speaking in the event held where Parliament Deputy Speaker MP Moosa Manik
signed to ruling Progressive Party of the Maldives.
President Yameen said it was possible for the opposition to gain enough votes to impeach Speaker Abdullah Maseeh, but vouched that he had committed no infractions. He added that it would also be possible for the opposition to gain enough votes but there were no real legal grounds to impeach him.
He had also claimed that he had not acted illegally.
