MP Ahmed Rasheed, who claimed his signature was forged on the motion of no-confidence against parliament speaker Abdullah Maseeh, has confessed that his signature was real.
He said this at Progressive Party of Maldives press conference on Tuesday, where he advocated for the Attorney General’s case on floor-crossing with the Supreme Court.
Previously, when MP Rasheed denied having signed the motion, the opposition had released a photograph of a person with a strong resemblance to him signing it in the presence of MP Faris Maumoon – who had spearheaded it.
After having denied it, he had filed a motion in parliament asking the secretariat to investigate the matter and penalize ‘those who are responsible’.
