A fire that broke out in a house in the congested capital of Maldives, Malé City, has been extinguished.

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that they received reports of the fire breaking out inside the house located in Mahchangoalhi district of the capital city, at around 03:39pm on Tuesday.

A team of the Maldives National Defence force (MNDF) Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene shortly after receiving the report.

The authority revealed that no injuries have been reported in connection with the fire incident.

The fire, that broke out on the fifth floor of the building, was extinguished shortly after the FRS team became active in the region.

The police institution revealed that they are conducting probes into the cause of the fire.
