HA. Hoarafushi Road Development Project reaches 82 percent progress

Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to construct 11 roads measuring 5.3 kilometers in length

The road development project in Hoarafushi island of Haa Alif atoll has reached 82 percent progress.

This was revealed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Thursday.

As such, providing the latest updates of the Hoarafushi road development project to the public, MTCC revealed that the project has reached overall 82 percent progress.

Currently ongoing at the site is the work to install the pavements.

MTCC revealed that the asphalt laying component of the project is also nearing completion and is at 95 percent progress presently.

Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to construct 11 roads measuring 5.3 kilometers in length.

Further, it also requires the construction of a carriageway measuring 25,909 square meters.

The installation of a stormwater infiltration system, streetlights, road markings and a pavement measuring 11,114 square meters, also come under the scope of the project.

The Hoarafushi road development project is valued at MVR 71.9 million.

Contracted to the company by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure on 8 April 2021, the project was mobilized on 16 January 2022.

The project was contracted to be completed over the course of 470 days.
