A young man who was injured in a road accident in Phase II of Hulhumalé has passed away while on ventilator support.
RaajjeMV understands that the youth who was injured in a crash between a pickup truck and a motorcycle in Hulhumalé Phase II on May 2, passed away late Friday.
The victim has been identified as Ahmed Zain, 20 and native to Nellaidhoo island of Haa Dhaal atoll.
Zain is to have been transferred to IGMH for further treatment after being treated at Hulhumalé Hospital.
He was on ventilator support when he passed away.
Doctors at IGMH revealed that Zain was in critical condition even when he was taken in for treatment.
Road accidents in Hulhumalé have been increasing, with the most recent one having been reported on Friday evening when a huge concrete mixing truck overturned in Hulhumalé Phase II. Two children and the truck driver were left injured in the accident.
