Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid, has met with the Vice President of the Hungarian Parliament, Csaba Hende.
Minister Shahid is in Hungary on an official visit.
In a Twitter post following his arrival, the foreign minister expressed confidence that his visit to Hungary would bring the two countries closer and maximize the bilateral collaboration between Maldives and Hungary, as well as cooperation in the multilateral fora.
The meeting took place after a tour of the Hungary's Parliament building, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987, on Thursday.
Minister Shahid was accompanied by Chief of Staff at the President’s Office, Ali Zahir, Secretary, Bilateral, Dr. Hala Hameed, and Assistant Director, Fathmath Lamya Imthiyaz.
As part of the visit, FM Shahid will also be meeting with his counterpart, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó to engage in discussions.
The discussions will revolve around ways to further strengthen the already robust relations between the Maldives and Hungary.
FM Shahid will also be exchanging views with his Hungarian counterpart regarding issues of mutual concern.
