The physical work for the harbor development project initiated in Narudhoo island of Shaviyani atoll, has commenced.
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) revealed this via Twitter on Sunday.
As such, providing the latest updates of the Narudhoo harbor development project to the public, MTCC revealed that they commenced the physical work for the project on May 4.
Currently, MTCC is working on the new harbor basin dredging operation of the project.
Under the scope of the project MTCC is required to conduct harbor dredging operations in an area measuring 51,212 cubic meters as well as channel dredging operations in an area of 4,120 cubic meters.
The construction of a quay wall measuring 210 meters, a 371-meter breakwater and a revetment measuring 205 meters also come under the scope of the project.
Further, MTCC will also be installing harbor lights as well as a harbor pavement measuring 955 square meters and constructing a ramp under the project.
