The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has publicized a summons notice for an individual wanted in connection with a case being probed by the Hulhumalé Phase I police station.
In a publication on Monday, MPS revealed that the summons was issued under Section 27 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to be followed by the institution while investigating criminal cases.
The summons was issued after efforts to locate the man and issue the summons notice were to no avail as his whereabouts remain unknown to the authorities, as well as the suspect’s family.
He is wanted for police interrogation in connection with a case linked to fraud and deceit submitted to the police stationed in Hulhumalé Phase I.
Being sought is Ahmed Ashraf, 21 and native to Funadhoo island in Shaviyani atoll.
Ashraf is to present himself to the Hulhumalé Phase I police station, at 2pm on April 2.
