Ibrahim Faih Nizam has been remanded by 30 days.

Faih, suspected to be involved in a case of gang violence and assault, turned himself in earlier this week.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the suspect, a 25-year-old native to Maradhoo Feydhoo island in Seenu atoll, turned himself in on Tuesday evening.

He has since been remanded by the Criminal Court, at a facility allocated by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The initial manhunt was launched in connection with a case of gang violence and assault using a sharp weapon inside a café in the capital city. The publication was issued on February 15.

After he turned himself in, Faih was put behind bars immediately.

The police institution has revealed that they had conducted a search operation in the capital, Malé City on Tuesday to locate the suspect.

The suspect has been wanted in connection with the case of gang violence and assault using a dangerous weapon for over a month now and a group of individuals were earlier arrested under allegations of hiding him.

Arrested under a court order were five individuals under suspicions of hiding and abetting the suspect.

The case is under further investigation by the Police Serious and Organized Crime Department, currently.
