Man arrested in relation to a rape case reported from Baa Atoll has been found guilty of touching a child with sexual intention.
The Criminal Court has slapped the man with a 10-year prison sentence for touching a child with sexual intention.
The court notes that the prosecution has brought forward enough evidence against the suspect, even though he pleaded not guilty.
Even though the man was slapped with a 10-year prison sentence, since he spent two years, six months and six days in remand upto the end of the hearing, he will be serving seven years, five months and 24 days.
