PGO filed 1,920 charges to the Criminal Court this year
The Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) has disclosed that the office filed a total of 1,920 charges to the Criminal Court this year.
Statistics disclosed by the PGO after concluding all its work in the year 2022, revealed that the office completed duty of prosecution of 2,162 cases this year.
Statistics shows that the PGO won 1,234 cases they filed in the courts.
PGO highlights that all of the statistics and information regarding their work in the year 2022, will now be available via their official website, Aamahi. As such the office notes that these statistics will give the public a good idea on how the prosecution system works.
The public will be able to access information on the day to day cases that the PGO takes on, as well as their on going cases and the schedules of the cases.
The office notes that the information will be updated every six hours.
PGO also notes that the aim of the office is to make information easily accessible to the public, within the next year.
