The Maldivian first couple is in Qatar on an official visit.

The President’s Office revealed that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed departed to Qatar on the official visit on Monday evening.

The trip comes upon the official invitation of the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The visit will see President Solih and First Lady Fazna attending the semifinal matches of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022, hosted in Qatar.

The visit symbolizes the close and stable bilateral relations enjoyed between the Maldives and Qatar.

The Maldivian first couple will return home on December 15, after concluding their visit to attend the World Cup semifinals.
