The new notes of MVR 50 reprinted with the official symbol of the MVR have been issued for use.
The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) very recently launched the newly reprinted MVR 50 notes.
The reprinted notes have the MVR symbol printed on both sides as well as Governor Ali Hashim’s signature.
MMA revealed that the new notes have since been issued for circulation.
The authority revealed that the old notes may still be used.
This marks the first time the MVR symbol has been used on notes and the change has only been brought to MVR 50 notes so far.
The reprinted dates are set at September 2022 or 12 Safar 1444.
Designed by Abdulla Nashaath, the “Randhiha faheh” polymer note series boasts multiple strong security features, with each note having a different color and theme.
The note series was launched to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Maldivian Independence.
