Police appeals for caution during eid festivities
Have to take permits to carry out street activities

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has issued an appeal to prioritize on safety during the festivities of Eid.
On Saturday evening, Police said Eid festivities should proceed ahead but participants must exercise caution and be mindful of vehicles and pedestrians.
The agency also reminded organizers of events to take the required permits to carry out their activities.
Police had previously warned not to publicize on social media on travel plans.
Sunday is this year’s Eid al-Fitr, following reported moon sightings in many Islamic nations.
