President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has met the President of the International Union of Universities (IUU), Professor Dr Muhammed Khair Al-Gabbani.
During the meeting held at the President’s Office on Thursday, President Solih welcomed the IUU President and his delegation to the Maldives.
Discussions revolved around the significant development sectors of the Maldives.
Sharing information on the union’s activities with the Maldivian president, Professor Al-Gabbani presented the President with brochures on the conferences and seminars and a book on the progress achieved by Turkey in the field of medicine.
The professor also presented a special commemorative plaque to the Maldivian president.
The meeting also saw the IUU President extending an invitation to President Solih, to participate in the 9th ‘OIC Halal Expo 2022’.
The OIC Halal Expo 2022 is slated to begin on November 24 and proceed through November 27.
Professor Al-Gabbani expressed interest in holding the conference in the Maldives next year.
The expo is expected to assist the archipelago nation’s expand its education sector, enhance technical capabilities in the health sector and leverage investment opportunities in other sectors important for national progress.
The meeting was joined by other senior officials of the IUU.
