Mohamed Jinah, the Non-Resident Ambassador of Republic of Maldives to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic has presented his credentials.
Ambassador Jinah presented his Letter of Credence to the President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith, at a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace, Vientiane on Thursday.
The credentials ceremony was followed by a brief courtesy call where Ambassador Jinah expressed his gratitude for being given the honor to serve as the Non-Resident Ambassador of Maldives to Laos.
He went on to convey the greetings of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the people of Maldives to the President and People of Laos.
The call saw the Maldivian ambassador expressing commitment to work closely with the government of Laos with a renewed focus in enhancing the bilateral relationship while also focusing in the areas of promoting tourism, trade, and other areas of mutual interest.
The President of Laos congratulated Ambassador Jinah on the assumption of his duties and expressed hope to work closely with the Maldivian government in further solidifying the bilateral relations and increasing people to people to contact between the two countries.
As part of his visit to Laos, the Maldivian ambassador also paid courtesy calls on a number of senior dignitaries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs including Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Phoxay Khaykhamphithoune to engage in discussions regarding opportunities and enhancing the cooperation between the two countries.
