The channel relocation project in Ungoofaaru island of Raa atoll has begun.
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) revealed that they commenced the channel relocation project in Ungoofaaru island on November 6.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to conduct channel dredging operations of 41,980 cubic meters.
Further, a 162-meter breakwater will also be constructed under the scope of the project.
The project will also see the installation of navigational lights in Ungoofaaru harbor.
The project is valued at MVR 18.5 million.
