Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid is in Serbia on an official visit.
FM Shahid arrived in Belgrade, Serbia, on an official visit late Friday.
His visit comes upon the official invitation from his counterpart, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Serbia, Ivica Dačić.
In a Twitter post following his arrival, the Maldivian minister revealed that he was looking forward to hold constructive discussions to further strengthen the bilateral relations and enhance cooperation between the two countries.
As part of the visit, FM Shahid will be holding bilateral talks with Minister Dačić and exploring avenues to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.
FM Shahid’s visit to Serbia is from November 4 – 6.
Further, he will be concluding a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Bilateral Political Consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Maldives and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia.
The MoU will pave the path to periodic consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Maldives and Serbia.
It is also expected to provide a framework to review and examine aspects of the bilateral relations between the two countries.
