The Meemu Airport Development Project is well underway.

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) revealed that the second shipment of rock boulders required for runway shore protection works under the project to develop the Meemu Airport, were delivered to the project site on November 1.

Under the project, MTCC is currently conducting the work to build the terminal foundation.

Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to reclaim 14 hectares of land and construct a runway measuring 1200 meters by 30 meters.

Coastal protection operations over an area measuring 1,812 meters are also included in the project.

MTCC will also be constructing a taxiway and an apron under the Meemu Airport Development Project.

The project is valued at MVR 243.9 million.
