Police destroy confiscated alcohol bottles
The alcohol and beer were confiscated from tourists who arrived at Dharavandhoo Domestic Airport for departure

A large number alcohol bottles, kept with police after they were confiscated during different operations, have been destroyed in Dharavandhoo island in Baa atoll.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the alcohol bottles were destroyed inside the Dharavandhoo Eco Center, on October 27.

Destroyed were 770 bottles of alcohol and 428 cans of beer. Officers also destroyed a 20-litre tank filled with alcohol.

The alcohol and beer were confiscated from tourists who arrived at Dharavandhoo Domestic Airport for departure between January and September this year.

The institution revealed that the bottles were destroyed under the supervision of the relevant police team and committee, as well as under the set legal procedure for it.
