President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has concluded his visit to Kaashidhoo Island in Kaafu Atoll.
The President departed to Kaashidhoo on Sunday to attend activities held to mark National Farmers’ Day and World Food Day.
Before travelling to Kaashidhoo Island, the President visited Sun Island Resort & Spa and watched the games of the FIVB Beach Pro Tour, Maldives Challenge 2022 - the highest-ranked sporting event hosted in the Maldives.
During his visit to Kaashidhoo Island, President Solih attended the official ceremony to commemorate National Farmer's Day and World Food Day 2022.
Taking the podium at the event, the President announced that the administration has made the decision to increase the amount of the agricultural loan offered to farmers to MVR two million, in order to help address the concerns and grievances of farmers.
Following the event, President Solih attended a special banquet hosted to mark National Farmer's Day and World Food Day.
As part of the visit, the President also visited the agricultural exhibition held to mark Farmers’ Day and met with members of the farming community, the members of the island council and the Women’s Development Committee (WDC) of Kaashidhoo Island.
He also visited the healthcare center on the island.
President Solih concluded his visit to Kaashidhoo Island and returned to Male' on Monday afternoon.
