The construction of the quay wall has been completed, so far

The design and construction of the harbor in Muraidhoo island of Haa Alif atoll is well underway.

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Sunday revealed that the work on designing and building the harbor in Muraidhoo island is well underway.

As such, MTCC revealed that the project is currently 57 percent completed.

The construction of the quay wall has been completed, so far.

MTCC is required to construct a quay wall measuring 212 meters and a breakwater measuring 407 meters as part of the project.

Further, the company is required to repair a stretch of the breakwater measuring 107 meters, under the scope of the project as well.

MTCC will also be building a 105-meter revetment, a 50-meter groyne and conducting dredging operations of the harbor and channel as well.

The construction of a ramp, a walkway bridge, the installation of navigation lights and harbor lights, are also included under the scope of the project.

The project is valued at MVR 33.7 million.
