President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated that the primary focus of his administration in 2023 would be to improve the healthcare sector.
He said this during a meeting held with senior officials from healthcare providers across the Maldives, at the President’s Office on Sunday.
As such, the president noted that his administration will place high priority in the development of healthcare services next year.
He also noted that some transformative changes in the sector have already been achieved, however, there is still room for improvement in healthcare services, he said.
The meeting saw managers from health centers across the country shedding light on the recent notable achievements observed in the health sector.
The health center managers also discussed the need for the standardization of healthcare centers, lack of staff, mobile laboratory management, the steady supply of prescription drugs as well as mechanisms for managing public health services.
The meeting saw the participants briefed on the incumbent administration's plans to improve the healthcare sector further.
The president also provided updates on the status of ongoing initiatives and assured the participants that the healthcare sector will soon see progressive changes.
The meeting was also attended by Vice President Faisal Naseem
VP Naseem stated that the incumbent administration has surpassed all previous governments in reforming healthcare services across the entire country.
