Indian Foreign Secretary to make an official visit to Maldives

The Ministry shared that the Indian Foreign Secretary will be visiting the Maldives from 1st of October to 3rd of October

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Maldives has disclosed that the Foreign Secretary of India, Vinay Mohan Kwatra is scheduled to make an Official Visit to the Maldives.

The Ministry shared that the Indian Foreign Secretary will be visiting the Maldives from 1st of October to 3rd of October.

The Foreign Secretary of India, is visiting the Maldives at the invitation of the Foreign Secretary of Maldives, Ahmed Latheef.

Foreign Ministry states that both the Foreign Secretaries of the Maldives and India will discuss ongoing collaborations between both Governments. Additionally, the Foreign Secretaries will be reviewing the progress of on ongoing projects under Indian development assistance to the Maldives.

Moreover, the Foreign Secretary of India is scheduled to call on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih during his visit. The Foreign Secretary will also be calling on the Speaker of Parliament, Mohamed Nasheed, Minister of Defence, Mariya Ahmed Didi, Minister of Finance, Ibrahim Ameer and Minister of Economic Development, Fayyaz Ismail, during his visit.

This is the Indian Foreign Secretary’s first visit to the Maldives, since assuming office in May 2022.
