The administration has kept its pledge of providing equal opportunities for all islands, despite their size or population, says President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

President Solih said this at the ceremony held to inaugurate the installation of the water supply service in Naivaadhoo Island of Haa Dhaalu atoll, on Monday.

At the Ceremony, the President reiterated that the administration would continue to serve all citizens equally without bias.

President Solih recalled that the island had been requesting for a clean water supply service for years, and that the new service would alleviate many of their problems. He emphasized that access to clean water and sanitation are essential needs that go beyond being listed as a presidential pledge in a manifesto.

FENAKA Corporation Limited commenced the water supply service on the island on 7 August, 2022. The project included laying a 4.5 kilometre extended water network that caters to 174 households.

Providing safe drinking water and sanitation to all citizens was one of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's most prominent presidential pledges.

President Solih is currently on a three-day tour of four islands of Haa Alif and Haa Dhaalu Atoll.
