Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has revealed that the company is currently working on Breakwater Construction for Lh. Hinnavaru Harbour Extension Project.

MTCC highlights that the project is well underway with 86 percent of work completion.

The company had previously shared that they have completed the concrete works of quay wall and that the harbor pavement casting works were ongoing.

Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to reclaim 3.2 hectares of land, dredge 65,170.76 cubic meters, construct a quay wall measuring 421 meters and a breakwater measuring 123.9 meters.

Additionally, the company is also required to build a revetment of 170.55 meters, construct a groyne and a harbor pavement.

The project was contracted to MTCC by the Ministry of National Planning Housing and Infrastructure on 10 November 2020 and mobilized on 13 March 2021.

The project is contracted to be completed within 350 days, and is valued at MVR 99.52 million.
